Disability Sub Group

The disability sub-group was established in 2010, to progress good practise in disability provision within South Yorkshire and in particular support South Yorkshire Athletic Clubs to develop greater accessibility for people with disabilities.

The group is chaired by Kev Lincoln, Chairman of Doncaster Athletic Club, with membership representing the four regional disability officers, Federation of Disability Sports Organisations, SYAN club representatives and a member of Doncaster Disability Sports Forum.

The aims and objectives of the group are:

To develop and deliver pathways into local clubs.

To develop disability club protocols.

To organise relevant training.

To promote greater access to local athletic clubs.

To promote greater inclusivity into clubs.

To identify and attract talented athletes.

The group meets four times a year, working to an action plan which forms part of the main South Yorkshire Network Plan.
